Drying: Dry thoroughly in the shade in a well-ventilated area. Direct sunlight causes rapid drying
which may cause the wood to shrink and the band to come loose.
Also, band slippage, wood cracking, and warping may occur, so do not
use in a dishwasher.
Storage: Wrap in paper or cotton cloth to prevent direct air exposure.
The ideal storage location is cool with low humidity. If the wooden rice container is stored with the lid closed,
it may produce wood resin (natural tree resin), so store with the lid open and wrapped in cotton cloth.
Store accordingly.
About Wood Resin (Natural Tree Resin)
Wood resin is a sticky tree sap that seeps from the wood surface. Resin also contributes to the unique fragrance of hinoki wood.
However, if the sticky feel bothers you, wipe it away with disinfectant alcohol (ethanol).
Note: it is harmless to the human body.
※Even if you do not use the item immediately after purchase, perform tannin and odor removal using this method first.
Store accordingly.
